Afternoon classes may vary from year to year. These classes are open only to students enrolled a morning program. For the 2009-2010 school year, we offer:

Discovery Club

This program helps children prepare for the future challenges of kindergarten. Members have lots of fun while developing skills such as:

  • Cognitive development through learning, problem solving and symbolic thinking
  • Understand cause and effect, classification, and one-to-one correspondence
  • Fine and gross motor development
  • Self-direction and independence
  • Language development and literacy skills
  • Logical thinking skills such as sorting, measuring, and complex patterning
  • Scientific observation and experimentation

Children enrolled in the Explorers and Adventurers classes are eligible for Discovery Club.  This class meets on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 12:30 pm to 2:45 pm.

After-School Program

All CCBC children are eligible for Stay and Play.  This program is offered five days a week, from 12:30 pm to 2:45 pm, and is available on a regular or drop-in basis. The Stay and Play Program provides children with fun activities in art, music, drama, cooking, woodworking, and science.  The children will also go on walking field trips.

Did you know that you can use Stay and Play:

  1. On days when your child does not come to school
  2. On a drop in basis: doctor’s appointment, lunch with your hubby, to grab an afternoon nap
  3. For children of all ages
  4. Any day of the week!
